Dawn Derow performs with the Cape Symphony in Holiday on the Cape December 2021

Cape Native Dawn Derow Brings Cabaret to Holiday

Holiday on the Cape will be brightened this year by Dawn Derow, who grew up in Eastham before becoming the toast of New York's cabaret scene.

Dawn graduated from the Boston Conservatory with a Bachelor’s degree in music, and performed in operas and musicals around the world. In 2008, she began to pursue a career as a cabaret singer. Over the past 13 years, Dawn has performed in many prestigious venues including the Weill Center at Carnegie Hall and Birdland Jazz Club.

The winner of multiple awards from the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs, Dawn released an album from her critically acclaimed 2018 show MY SHIP: Songs from 1941 in the summer of 2021.

Dawn’s most recent show, The House That Built Me, is based on her love for her father’s vast record collection. The set list included classic pop hits and Broadway show tunes from legendary performers such as Judy Collins, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, and Rosemary Clooney, as well as contemporary artists P!nk and Miranda Lambert.
