Richard Balkin
Dr. Richard Balkin has performed as a member of the Kronos and Tremont String Quartets, and in such venues as the Library of Congress, Carnegie Hall, and the Los Angeles County Museum. He has recorded for the CRI, Centaur, and Mark labels. Prior to coming to the Cape Conservatory, Dr. Balkin was Professor of Violin at SUNY Geneseo, and Director of Strings at Geneseo Central School. He completed studies of violin and viola with Dorothy Delay, Eric Rosenblith, Henryk Szering, and Rudolf Kolisch. With a career spanning more than forty years, Dr. Balkin has enjoyed teaching music to students of all ages.
