Rosemarie Manganello
In early childhood through high school she studied piano at the Chaloff School of Music in Boston. During middle school and high school years, she played and sang in schools, community events, and churches in Boston. In addition, she gave piano lessons in her family home on weekends. For several semesters, Rosemarie was given the opportunity to have lessons on a tracker organ at Trinity Church in Boston. Graduation from high school culminated with a four-year music scholarship and Rosemarie majored in music education and voice at University of Massachusetts Lowell. Rosemarie sang in the Chorale under the baton of Dr. Edward Gilday, Conductor of the Handel & Haydn Society of Boston. During her undergraduate years, Rosemarie continued to study voice with Dr. Amy Young Burns of Cambridge, a well-known music educator, choral director and vocal teacher. Later, she pursued a Master of Arts in Musicology degree from Kent State University, Ohio. In 2011, she received a Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Education from Boston University focusing her dissertation on Movement in the Middle School Rehearsal.
Throughout her career, Dr. Manganello conducted choral groups in private and public schools and churches in New York, Ohio, Florida and Massachusetts. She accompanied various ensembles, choirs, and soloists on piano or organ. While teaching at a private middle and upper school in Lexington, MA, she was the conductor and vocal director of many musical productions such as Fiddler On The Roof, West Side Story, Fantastiks, Wizard of Oz, Sound of Music, Oliver!, and Les Miserables. At present, Dr. Manganello is independently teaching piano and voice lessons and is organist and pianist for church services and community events.
