Kyle Spraker is the Principal Trumpet, a devoted teaching artist, and the Education Programs Manager with the Cape Symphony.

As a musician, Kyle has performed with orchestras, chamber ensembles, big bands, rock bands, recording sessions for movies & video games, and is frequently featured as a soloist (often with the Cape Symphony!). His career has taken him all over the world, performing and teaching throughout the United States, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Central and South America. A small sample of notable ensembles he has performed with includes: Benjamin Zander and the Boston Philharmonic, DeVotchka at the House of Blues Boston, Plácido Domingo at the Wang Theater, Kyushu Symphony in Japan, composer John Williams conducting the American Youth Symphony, and recording for the popular video-game series Final Fantasy.

As an educator, Kyle teaches trumpet privately to students ranging from five to 60 years old, both remotely (over Zoom) and at the Cape Symphony's West Barnstable Campus. For information on taking lessons with Kyle, contact the West Barnstable Registrar at 508.362.2772 or info@capesymphony.org.

As the Education Programs Manager, Kyle collaborates with educators throughout Cape Cod, from Falmouth to P-Town, to share the incredible artistry of the Cape Symphony, through grant-funded programs, with thousands of students every year. Please visit Educational Outreach for more information about those programs.

Kyle earned a master's degree from the New England Conservatory in 2010, where he focused on performance, studying with members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra: Benjamin Wright and Steven Emery. Before moving to the east coast, Kyle earned a bachelor's degree from California State University, Long Beach, where he studied with members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic: Jim Wilt and Christopher Still. He has also been a fellow at Spoleto Festival USA, National Orchestral Institute, Idyllwild Festival, and the Castleton Festival under the baton of legendary conductor Lorin Maazel.

Kyle and his wife, Maria (Harpist and Cape Symphony Teaching Artist), are both busy performers and educators who recently moved to Sandwich where they enjoy exploring the West Barnstable Conservation trails with their dog, Poco, and relaxing at Sandy Neck Beach.
