Maggi Bossi
From 1987 to 2010, Maggi Bossi served as the director of the Chatham Chorale. The Board of Directors granted Maggie Music Director Emerita status upon her retirement at the end of the 2009-10 concert season, honoring her for 25 years of service to the Chorale, 23 as Music Director. Her skills as a chorus director and leadership of the Chatham Chorale are well-known to Cape audiences.
Under Maggi’s direction, the Chorale’s members sang a far-ranging repertoire, from major works presented with professional soloists and orchestras to Broadway revues with big band ensembles and Gilbert & Sullivan operettas in full production. This was in addition to countless smaller concerts that explored, among other things, Canadian composers, Eastern European composers, klezmer music, and Bach cantatas. She also commissioned major works for performance by the Chorale.
Maggi graduated from Smith College and did graduate studies in music at Brandeis University.
