Symphony in the Schools

Symphony in the Schools presents the select professional musicians of the Cape Symphony at our regional schools so that students can hear their instruments up close and learn about the incredible art of chamber music. Symphony in the Schools exposes young ears to an entire genre of music that they likely have never had the opportunity to hear. Chamber music groups include ensembles like string quartets, brass quintets, woodwind quintets, various percussion ensembles, and mixed instrument ensembles. All of these groups have one thing in common though: no conductor! They must rehearse and perform challenging music as a team and with that comes the development of vital collaborative skills that can be applied to everything from larger musical ensembles to non-musical careers in any profession.

Jung-Ho Pak in the Schools

We’re very fortunate to have an Artistic Director & Conductor who enjoys working with Cape Cod high school band, orchestra, and choral programs. Jung-Ho Pak is a gifted leader and educator and enjoys visiting schools to work with both ensembles and conductors. This gives students an important opportunity to observe their own teacher as an attentive student and learn a fundamental truth: that, as musicians, we never stop learning!

Symphony in the Schools and Jung-Ho Pak in the Schools are supported by the Enoch T. Cobb Trust and the Kelley Foundation.
