We welcome you to a sumptuous celebration of the Baroque giant Johann Sebastian Bach. The many highlights include the “Brandenburg Concerto No. 5”; our passionate principal cellist, Jacques Lee Wood, performing the “Prelude from Cello Suite No. 1”; and “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring,” featuring the GRAMMY-nominated vocal sensation Skylark, an ensemble that creates a vocal tapestry with their intricate sound.
We also go “forth” to hear modern interpretations of Bach, including Leopold Stokowski’s famous re-imagining of Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue” (heard in Disney’s Fantasia) and Anton Webern’s “Ricercar” from Bach’s The Musical Offering.
At the concert, the Cape Symphony is holding a Thanksgiving Food Drive. We hope you'll help us to provide a healthy holiday meal for deserving local families.
