What better way to start your new year off than with the joyful experience of the Cape Symphony? Spend the afternoon enjoying a mix of old and new – Viennese waltzes and marches in the spirit of a New Year’s celebration in Vienna, combined with a fabulous tribute to that giant of musical theatre, Stephen Sondheim! We’ll feature a nod to Beethoven’s birthday, with Concertmaster Jae Cosmos Lee performing “Romance for Violin and Orchestra.”
To celebrate the life of Stephen Sondheim, we’ll perform selections from West Side Story (popular again with the new movie version out in theaters) and an arrangement of “Send in the Clowns,” from A Little Night Music, highlighting strings and piano. Local favorite Siren Mayhew of Martha’s Vineyard will perform “Being Alive” from Company – we’re excited to hear her powerful voice in our hall once again!
The Cape Symphony’s New Year’s Day Party is a fun-filled variety show guaranteed to make the first day of the year a happy one!
Please note that we are unable to hold the Vienna Cafe this year, but we're delighted to invite you to our New Year's Day Party!
