Friday series at Devil's Purse Brewing Company Kicks Off June 27
Cape Symphony Presents will bring free live jazz performances to Devil’s Purse Brewing Company Friday evenings from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, June 27 - August 29, 2025. There will be no concert July 4. Here is the lineup:
Joe Mongelli/Scott Avidon & the Cape Jazz Crew kick off the series June 27 with classics from Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Art Blakey and Horace Silver. The band is: Joe Mongelli, trumpet and flugelhorn; Scott Avidon, saxophone; Cape Symphony faculty member Matt Hutchinson, piano; Mike Ryle, upright bass; and Michael Dunford, drums.
Latin jazz duo Nina Ott and Chris Lopes bring the unique sounds of organ and drumset to the Devil’s Purse patio on July 11.
The Art Ensemble of Cape Cod will perform July 18. Pianist Wayne Naus, bassist Rick Cain, and drummer John DiSanto play jazz standards and original music inspired by life on the Cape.
On July 25, DJ Rhythmryder will spin danceable grooves and laid-back jazz vibes encompassing Cuban, Afrobeat, Japanese, Brazilian, French, Blue Note classics, Scandinavian, and Latin rhythms.
Popular Cape Cod talents Matthew Levesque, vocalist and Fred Boyle, pianist will entertain as a duo on August 1.
August 8 brings regional favorites Tish Adams & Evening Sky to perform “jazz, blues and a few surprises.”
The Olivia Yingling Quartet will play jazz standards, bossa nova, and Latin jazz on August 15.
Vocalist Sara Sneed and guitarist Pat Ryan head up Sara & The Blue Notes, performing on August 22.
The Cape Cod Jazz Quartet -- Steve Ahern, trumpet and flute; Fred Boyle, piano; Ron Ormsby, bass; and Bart Weisman, drums – will close out the series with beloved jazz standards on August 29.
The Red River BBQ food truck will be on site each Friday.
Devil’s Purse Brewing Co. is located at 120 Great Western Road, South Dennis, 02660. All performances are free of charge, no ticket required.
