Donate by Donor Advised Funds (DAFs), Charitable IRA Rollovers, or Stock

Cape Symphony accepts gifts from Donor Advised Funds (DAFs), charitable IRA rollovers, and gifts of stock. Your financial institution and advisor will need Cape Symphony’s legal name and TIN number to fulfill distribution requests.

Legal Name: Cape Arts and Entertainment, Inc.
TIN: 04-6297436

A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is an account established to support charities while achieving income tax savings. It allows donors to establish a fund to make charitable contributions over time while receiving an upfront tax deduction. Because any assets transferred into the account must eventually go to charity, the donor is qualified for a charitable deduction at the time of the contribution to the DAF.

If you're 70.5 or older, you can make tax-free gifts up to $100,000 annually directly from your IRA. The charitable individual retirement account (IRA) rollover provides taxpayers with a mechanism for transferring their annual required minimum distributions (RMDs) directly to charitable organizations to exclude the distributions from their taxable income.

By donating appreciated stocks held for more than a year, individuals can avoid paying capital gains tax on the increase in value while still receiving a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the shares at the time of donation.

Leave a Legacy

Planned giving is an easy way to make a lasting contribution. Planned gifts play a crucial role in sustaining the high level of artistry and innovative programming of our concerts, expanding our music and arts education programs, and enriching and shaping the culture of our Cape community. Legacy giving can be accomplished through a bequest in a will, beneficiary designation on retirement accounts or life insurance, or a charitable trust.

Bequests are often provided to Cape Symphony as a lump sum or as a percentage of the residue of your estate. Sample language to include in your will could read: “I give to Cape Arts and Entertainment, Inc. (TIN: 04-6297436), located in West Barnstable, MA, [the sum of $_____ -or- ___% of the residue of my estate] for its general purposes."

Through your financial advisor and/or insurance agent, you may also designate Cape Arts and Entertainment, Inc. as a partial or full beneficiary of retirement accounts, life insurance policies, and/or charitable trusts.

Those who inform Cape Symphony of a legacy gift become members of the Royston Nash Society. Royston Nash was the conductor of the Cape Symphony Orchestra from 1980-2007, and this society was founded to honor his legacy. To ensure your gift works as you intend and to participate in the Royston Nash Society, we would appreciate knowing the details of your planned gift.

Volunteer marketing teams help promote special concerts and events throughout Cape Cod.

Concert ushers are responsible for helping guests find their seats for Cape Symphony performances, checking tickets, answering patron questions, and providing assistance to those with special needs. Ushers receive free admission to the concerts they work.

Musician hosts house musicians for 3-4 days surrounding concert weekends. Hosts receive two complimentary tickets to any Saturday evening Masterpiece concert during the 24/25 season.
