This compelling program takes us from Classical elegance to Romantic depth. Chevalier de Saint-Georges’s Symphony No. 1 opens with poise and charm, followed by Shostakovich’s searing Cello Concerto No. 1. The concert culminates in Brahms’s Symphony No. 4, a work of beauty, power, and weight that crowns our Classical series finale with profound emotion.
