Cape Symphony Youth Chorus

Find Your Voice. Be Part of Something New.

A new youth chorus is coming to Cape Cod.

The Cape Symphony Youth Chorus is a dynamic new choral program for singers ages 12–20 who are passionate about music, performance, and artistic growth. Built as part of Cape Symphony Conservatory’s expanding youth education programs, the Youth Chorus offers students a high-level ensemble experience focused on vocal development, musicianship, collaboration, and confidence-building.

Through engaging rehearsals and meaningful performance opportunities, students will develop healthy vocal technique, ensemble skills, music literacy, and expressive artistry in a supportive and inspiring environment. The program also creates opportunities for collaboration with other Cape Symphony ensembles and community arts partners, helping students connect with the broader cultural life of Cape Cod.

Beyond musical training, participation in chorus fosters creativity, discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence—skills that extend far beyond the stage. The Youth Chorus also serves as an accessible entry point into high-quality music education for students across the region, providing a welcoming pathway for young musicians to grow, connect, and thrive through the power of music.

Vocal Placements

All new and returning members must participate in Vocal Placements each season.
Key components of the vocal placement will include a prepared song (often a simple folk song), pitch-matching exercises, range testing, and basic rhythm/sight-singing, usually taking 5-10 minutes per singer.

Pre-Season Vocal Placements (June–August) and Fall Vocal Placements (September) are held on select dates throughout the year. Assigned placement times will be communicated at least one week prior to your selected date. Registrations received after that time will be scheduled based on remaining availability.

Mid-Season Vocal Placements are arranged on a case-by-case basis and may be requested by clicking below. Accepted students may be invited to join during the Spring semester (January–May). Additional vocal placements will also be offered in January for students interested in joining at the start of the second concert cycle.

In all cases, if you are not available for specific dates, but still want to participate in a vocal placement, please reach out and we'll do our best to arrange an alternate time.

All vocal placements will take place at Cape Symphony's West Barnstable Campus:
2235 Iyannough Road (Route 132)
West Barnstable, MA 02668
