Alyssa Wang will debut as Cape Symphony's Music Director
WEST BARNSTABLE, MA—November 17, 2025
Cape Symphony’s annual “Holiday on the Cape” concert will be held December 5, 6, & 7 at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center. The Chatham Chorale, Patrice Tiedemann, Align Dance Company, and the Cape Symphony Youth Orchestra will perform with the Orchestra. Alyssa Wang will take the podium for the first time as Cape Symphony’s Music Director.
The concert program includes beautiful carols and heartwarming classics. The Chatham Chorale, led by Assistant Conductor Joe Marchio, will join the Orchestra for “We Need a Little Christmas,” “The First Noel,” and other pieces, culminating in the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah.
Guest vocalist Patrice Tiedemann has appeared as a soloist with the Boston Pops, Boston Lyric Opera, the Cape Cod Opera, Rhode Island Philharmonic, and many others. She is Artistic Director of Seaglass Theater Company and holds a Master’s degree in vocal performance from Indiana University. Ms. Tiedemann’s soprano will sparkle in “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “White Christmas,” and is sure to enchant in “O Holy Night.”
Align Dance Company dancers will perform to “Waltz of the Flowers” from The Nutcracker. At Saturday’s concerts, the Cape Symphony Youth Orchestra will join their professional counterparts onstage for Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride.”
Alyssa Wang brings a focus on audience inclusivity and engagement to the Music Director role. “The Cape is a vibrant and inspiring place, and I have been deeply moved by how engaged, passionate, and welcoming its audiences are,” she says. “I can’t wait to create performances that connect with and reflect this remarkable community.”
