Grant supports the Cape Symphony Youth Orchestra’s Summer Chamber Program
HYANNIS, MA—June 8, 2021
The Cape Symphony is delighted to announce the receipt of a $2,500 grant from the Martha’s Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation for the Cape Symphony Youth Orchestra’s (CSYO) Summer Chamber Program, a weeklong music camp in July focusing on the practice of small ensemble performance.
The program, which includes instruction, ensemble practice, a masterclass and performance with a guest artist ensemble, and a culminating performance by the students, is open for students ages ten to 21 who play winds (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, horn, euphonium, and tuba) or strings (violin, viola, cello, bass, and harp). The program will run from July 12-17th at the Cape Symphony Falmouth Campus and from July 19-24th at the Cape Symphony Barnstable Campus.
Registration and a detailed description of the CSYO Summer Chamber Program can be found on the Cape Symphony website. For more information, contact the Barnstable Campus Registrar at 508.362.2772 or the Falmouth Campus Registrar at 508.540.0611.
“We are delighted to receive this grant from the Martha’s Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation,” said Michael Albaugh, Cape Symphony Executive Director. “This program is an opportunity for talented students to have a full immersion in ensemble performance and this support will help us to make the program a success.”
