The Cape Symphony is pleased to announce an festive family-friendly event taking place on the day of Halloween. “Symphony Spooktacular” will include a no-contact, socially-distant trick-or-treating experience, a Halloween photo booth, a costume contest (with prizes for Scariest, Funniest, and Most Creative), giveaways, and live music from Cape Symphony musicians and CJazz, our youth and adults jazz ensemble.
“Symphony Spooktacular” will take place on October 31st outdoors at the Cape Symphony’s Barnstable campus, and 30-minute timeslots will be ticketed to ensure safety. The hours are 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM and the event will be held rain or shine. The Barnstable Campus is located at 2235 Iyannough Road, Barnstable, MA.
“We wanted to create a safe and fun way for families to enjoy the Halloween holiday this year,” said Jackie deRuyter, Cape Symphony Director of Engagement. “Our whole team, including some of our Cape Symphony musicians from the orchestra, is excited to be a part of this day.”
The Cape Symphony staff has worked closely with the Board of Health and followed all CDC guidelines to design safety protocols for this event, including a maximum capacity at 50% of the current legal limit, a one-way traffic pattern with social distancing strictly enforced, mandatory masks for all staff and attendees. Hand sanitizer will be available and all candy distributed will be in its original packaging.
“Safety obviously comes first,” added deRuyter. “The holidays will look different this year, but we have the outdoor space at our Barnstable campus to present a safe Halloween celebration and we’re pleased to do this for our community.”
