Maria Rindenello-Spraker is a professional harpist and Cape Symphony teaching artist who has served the organization in many capacities since joining the team in 2017.

As an educator, Maria has taught private lessons to eager harpists of all ages and abilities, inspiring students to regularly perform in recitals or participate in the Cape Symphony Youth Orchestra. She also provides vital support to the Cape Symphony Preschool program, assisting with Suzuki violin lessons, creating and leading activities for arts enrichment classes, and occasionally hopping on piano (or harp) to accompany young students in performance.

Maria recently accepted the Principal Harp position with Vista Philharmonic Orchestra in Groton, MA, where she also serves on faculty. She also frequently performs with the Cape Symphony and New Bedford Symphony Orchestra. Other notable ensembles she has performed with include Portland Symphony Orchestra, Boston Landmarks Orchestra, Plymouth Philharmonic, and Lexington Symphony.

Locally on Cape Cod, Maria has performed with the Falmouth Chorale, Outer Cape Chorale, Woods Hole Cantata Consort (as a featured soloist), and in the Cape Playhouse 2022 production of “The Fantasticks”.

Maria was a prize winner in the Advanced Division of the American Harp Society's 18th National Competition. She received both her Master’s and Bachelor’s of Music degrees from New England Conservatory in Boston, under the tutelage of Dr. Ann Hobson Pilot, with whom she studied harp for more than 10 years.

Notable summer festivals that Maria has participated in include Spoleto Festival USA, Aspen Music Festival, Monadnock Music, and the Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival. Orchestral tours have taken her to Venezuela, Brazil, China, and Barbados.

Lastly, Maria maintains and repairs harps as a guild-certified harp technician!
