Michelle comes to the Cape Symphony from New York City, where she has been a dance educator, choreographer, and performer. She works to share her passion for the art of dance with students of all ages, styles, and abilities. She received a Bachelor's of Arts from Dean College Summa Cum Laude and is a member of the Academic Honor Society Phi Theta Kappa. As a recipient of the Drusilla Carlson Phelps Award, she was commended for her talent in performance and a future in dance education.
Michelle studied extensively abroad at Dock 11 in Berlin, Germany and at the Laban School in Greenwich, England, along with classes in Amsterdam and Tokyo. She studied at the Ailey School and taught for EXPG in NYC. Michelle is nationally recognized for her choreography through competition circuits and has traveled throughout the US teaching master classes and workshops.
Michelle has presented work on NYC stages with her dance company KRIMP Dance and is a former company member of bi-coastal company Delineation Dance. She has been a guest lecturer at Worcester State University, and presented work and lectured at the Worcester Arts Museum. Her students have gone on to study at top universities and pursue professional industry careers.
As a dance artist, Michelle enjoys blending technical and street styles, creating her unique choreography with a heavy emphasis on musicality. She aims to inspire the next generation of movers and all who share in the joy of dance.
