For the Cape Symphony’s performance of Mozart’s Requiem, we have to bring in outstanding solo singers. The masterpiece requires four solo voices – soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, and bass – who must be able to handle the demands Mozart placed on them.
Chelsea Basler appeared with the Cape Symphony last September in “Opera's Greatest Moments.” The GRAMMY Award-nominated soprano continues to make her mark in an extensive array of operatic roles due to her unique combination of vocal appeal and artistry.
From opera galas to evenings of Broadway, baritone Thomas Jones is at home with a vast array of musical styles, performing across North America and Europe. Thomas conducts the choir and music program at Old Cambridge Baptist Church near the Harvard campus in Harvard Square.
Michael Kuhn is a versatile singing-actor with a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from New England Conservatory. A tenor, Michael made his Carnegie Hall debut in April 2018 with the New England Symphonic Ensemble.
Mezzo-soprano Krista River won the 2004 Concert Artists Guild International Competition. A contemporary music advocate, Krista has premiered works by numerous composers, and actually began her career as a cellist.
These four extraordinary singers will join Musica Sacra and the Cape Symphony for Magnificent Mozart on November 3 and 4. Get your tickets today at capesymphony.org or call 508.362.1111.
