“Music making is really for life,” says Cape Symphony teaching artist Alex Nelson, a classically trained bassoonist with a degree in Music Education. Her holistic approach to musicianship and teaching does more than just bridge those worlds—it’s about recognizing that every moment, as an instrumentalist, teacher, or student, is full of potential for connection through the power of music.

With a cello in his hands and a grin on his face, John brings energy, focus, and a genuine love for music to every stage he steps on. A proud alum of the Cape Symphony Youth Orchestra, John has been a musical force on Cape Cod since age nine.
