Featuring Classical Mystery Tour
HYANNIS, MA—February 8, 2018
The Beatles may have performed with an orchestra in studio, but what would it have sounded like if they had performed live in concert with a symphony orchestra? Find out Saturday, June 16!
The four musicians in Classical Mystery Tour look and sound just like The Beatles, but the Cape Symphony’s Beatles Tribute will be more than just a rock concert. It might just be the best show The Beatles never did! The Cape Symphony’s Beatles Tribute featuring Classical Mystery Tour will present two performances on Saturday, June 16 (3:00 PM and 7:30 PM) at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center, 744 West Main Street, Hyannis.
“This is a rare recreation of some of The Beatles orchestra-based songs as well as their other legendary hits throughout the ‘60s. A chance to hear songs like ‘All You Need is Love’ and ‘A Day in the Life’ performed with a live orchestra is a thrilling experience,” said Jung-Ho Pak, Artistic Director & Conductor of the Cape Symphony.
The show features more than two dozen Beatles tunes performed exactly as they were originally recorded. Hear “Penny Lane” with a live trumpet section, experience the beauty of “Yesterday” with an acoustic guitar and string quartet, enjoy the classical/rock blend on “I Am the Walrus,” and relish the cascading crescendos on “A Day in the Life.”
“We really make an effort to sound exactly like the originals,” explains James Owen, the founder of Classical Mystery Tour who also portrays John Lennon in the show. “The orchestra score is exact, right down to every note and instrument that was on the original recording.”
From early Beatles music on through the solo years, Classical Mystery Tour is the best of The Beatles paired with the talented and highly energized Cape Symphony. “We have some real show-stopping numbers,” says Owen. “I wish I could actually be in the audience to see and hear this show, because the power of the emotional and nostalgic connection this music has with the audience is hard to put into words.”
The Cape Symphony is proud to feature Classical Mystery Tour in the Cape Symphony’s Beatles Tribute concert on Saturday, June 16 at 3:00 PM and 7:30 PM.
