Cape Symphony & Conservatory Runs the Virtual Falmouth Road Race as a Charity Team

Funds raised will provide financial support for the organization through pandemic

HYANNIS, MA—June 22, 2020

Several Cape Symphony & Conservatory staff members will train for the seven-mile at-home edition of the Falmouth Road Race this summer to support the organization during this difficult time.

Eight Cape Symphony & Conservatory employees will run the virtual version of the Falmouth Road Race from August 15-29th. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s participants will run or walk seven miles in their own neighborhoods during that time period. Last year, a small but mighty team of three Cape Symphony & Conservatory team members raised over $4,000 for arts education. This year’s runners must meet a minimum fundraising goal by July 1st.

“Even though we can’t physically be together for this year’s event, the Falmouth Road Race is definitely uniting Cape Symphony & Conservatory staff around a cause that is very important to us – our organization,” said Jackie deRuyter, Director of the Cape Conservatory. “We are hoping to double our efforts this year with a larger team and higher fundraising goal,” she said.

The New Balance Falmouth Road Race has supported hundreds of Massachusetts-based nonprofits through its Numbers for Nonprofits Program. To date, over $30 million has been raised by participating organizations and is one of the most lucrative fundraising events for many of those organizations.

Community members interested in donating to the Cape Symphony & Conservatory team can go to GoFundMe, visit the Conservatory website at capeconservatory.org or reach out to Jackie deRuyter at 508.362.2772, This email address is being protected from spambots.
