Saturday matinee added to concert weekend by popular demand
WEST BARNSTABLE, MA—May 18, 2026
The Cape Symphony Orchestra and powerhouse guest vocalists will play “Let’s Groove Tonight: Motown and The Philly Sound” on June 13 and 14, 2026, concluding Cape Symphony’s 2025/26 season at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center in high style. Due to high demand for tickets, a 3:00 PM show on Saturday, June 13 has been added to the concert weekend.
The program is packed with smash hits by Diana Ross, The Temptations, Earth, Wind & Fire, The O’Jays, and more, performed by Cape Symphony with Broadway superstar Chester Gregory and vocal sensations Cherise Coaches and Brik.Liam. Motown’s irresistible beats and Philly Soul’s lush orchestration mean double the fun: Motown chart-toppers including What’s Going On, I Heard It Through The Grapevine, and I’m Coming Out share the stage with Philly Sound hits such as Ain’t No Stopping Us Now, You’ll Never Find A Love Like Mine, and Love Train.
Guest artist Chester Gregory’s Broadway credits include Motown The Musical, Hairspray, Tarzan, Cry-Baby and Sister Act. He has toured nationally with Dreamgirls and Sister Act, as well as his one-man show The Eve of Jackie Wilson. Chester has received the Jeff Award, an NAACP Theatre Award, and been presented the keys to his hometown of Gary, Indiana and of East Chicago.
Cherise Coaches is an award-winning recording singer and actress with an impressive list of stage and screen credits including Waitress on Broadway and the touring company of Disenchanted: The Hilarious Hit Musical. She has performed background vocals for Lizzo, Kanye West, and Will Smith, and made her co-star debut on the Starz Network series The Chi.
Jacoby “Brik.Liam” Williams’s sound is profoundly influenced by classic soul vibes. He has released albums, performed with some of the industry's brightest talent, and showcased his music around the world. He toured the United States opening for GRAMMY award-winner PJ Morton, completed a solo tour in Russia, and released an EP entitled What’s The Matter, Brik.
Guest conductor Troy Quinn is excited to return to the Cape Symphony stage. Known for energetic style and stage presence, Quinn is Music Director of the Owensboro and Venice (Florida) Symphonies, and Pops Conductor of the Rhode Island Philharmonic and the Santa Rosa Symphony. He has performed with the Boston Pops, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and others, and performed and recorded with The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, Barry Manilow, Jennifer Hudson, The Indigo Girls, and more. He was Emmy-nominated for the PBS special A Night at the Oscars with the Owensboro Symphony, and has appeared on Glee, The Voice, and The Tonight Show and recorded music for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
“Let's Groove Tonight: Motown and The Philly Sound” will be presented Saturday, June 13 at 3:00 PM and 7:30 PM and Sunday, June 14 at 3:00 PM at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center, 744 West Main Street, Hyannis.
