Event Features Dozens of Beatles Songs Spanning the Sixties
HYANNIS, MA—March 29, 2022
The Beatles never played live with an orchestra – until now! The musicians of Classical Mystery Tour look and sound just like the Fab Four, and will bring the Beatles’ most memorable songs to life with the musicians of the Cape Symphony on April 23 and 24, 2022.
Back by popular acclaim, Classical Mystery Tour last rocked the Barnstable Performing Arts Center in June of 2018, bringing sold-out audiences to their feet for multiple standing ovations. Classical Mystery Tour has been wowing pops audiences for over 20 years, performing as the Beatles with hundreds of orchestras around the world.
“When Classical Mystery Tour performs, you cannot believe your eyes and ears,” said Jung-Ho Pak, Artistic Director & Conductor. “You’ll swear you’re at a Beatles concert, in which the greatest band ever plays all their show-stopping numbers and nostalgic favorites from the early sixties to 1970.”
The show features more than two dozen Beatles tunes performed exactly as they were originally recorded. Hear “Penny Lane” with a live trumpet section, experience the beauty of “Yesterday” with an acoustic guitar and string quartet, enjoy the classical/rock blend on “I Am the Walrus,” and relish the cascading crescendos on “A Day in the Life.” Plus “A Hard Day’s Night,” “The Long and Winding Road,” and many more.
"We really make an effort to sound exactly like the originals," explained Jim Owen, the founder of Classical Mystery Tour, who also portrays John Lennon in the show. “The power of the emotional connection this music has with audiences is beyond words."
“Most Beatles fans never had the opportunity to experience a live show,” said Jung-Ho Pak. “Together, Classical Mystery Tour and the Cape Symphony will provide that opportunity – and it will be the most amazing Beatles show that never was!”
