Staff of Cape Symphony & Conservatory Volunteers for Habitat for Humanity

Habitat Build Underway in Marstons Mills

HYANNIS, MA—September 13, 2018

Members of the Cape Symphony & Conservatory staff, including Artistic Director and Conductor Jung-Ho Pak, will work on a Habitat for Humanity build project in Marstons Mills later this month.

A dozen individuals from the joint organization are volunteering to shingle affordable homes being built by the non-profit organization Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod. The organization has developed 135 homes on the Cape with the help of the future homeowners and community volunteers.

“We’re excited to take part in this project. Our mission is to 'Inspire Joy' and we believe there couldn’t be anything more joyous than helping someone have a safe and affordable place to live,” said Cape Symphony & Conservatory Chief Operating Officer Linda Mawhinney.

The homes are located on Dickinson Drive in Marstons Mills and Cape Symphony & Conservatory staff will be volunteering there from 8 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, September 25.

Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod works in partnership with families in need to build homes, hope, lives and community. The organization focuses on partnership and invites people of all backgrounds to build houses alongside the future owner. Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod has built homes in all 15 towns on Cape Cod.

“We are thrilled that the artists and staff of the Symphony and Conservatory have chosen to give their time on a Habitat work site, to contribute to building better lives and a more vibrant and healthy community. We know that they are used to working harmoniously, so we expect them to be awesome volunteers. Every hand makes a difference,” said Victoria Goldsmith, Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity Cape Cod.
