Must-see event features the cool sounds of Vintage Vocal Quartet and Chatham Chorale
HYANNIS, MA—November 13, 2018
In its most popular concert of the year, the Cape Symphony kicks off the holiday season with Holiday on the Cape – the annual tradition that wraps favorite holiday tunes with singing and dancing guests for a wonderful evening of holiday cheer.
Vintage Vocal Quartet makes their Cape Symphony debut, bringing their smooth retro sounds to musical treasures like “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” and “Silver Bells.”
“I am very excited to share this group with our audience because their smooth and jazzy sound will bring a cool twist to all of our holiday favorites,” said Cape Symphony Artistic Director and Conductor Jung-Ho Pak. “They sing so beautifully and are also top-notch musicians on piano, bass, guitar and trumpet.”
Another highlight this year will be “A Celtic Christmas,” featuring original music composed especially for the Cape Symphony’s Holiday on the Cape. To bring true Irish authenticity to the piece, the engaging Cape-based Celtic Roots, Celtic bagpiper Sarah Ford Marchio and dancers from the Kanaley School of Irish Dance will join the Cape Symphony on stage.
The Chatham Chorale, Conservatory Youth Ballet, a beautiful Hanukkah piece, and the popular audience sing-a-long are all included.
In partnership with the Cape Cod Military Support Foundation, the Cape Symphony is holding its first-ever toy drive during Holiday on the Cape. Military personnel will park a Harbor Master boat at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center and collect new, unwrapped toys for local military families. Gift cards and cash or check donations are also welcome. Visit capesymphony.org for more information.
