CapePOPS! Concert features the Boogie Wonder Band
HYANNIS, MA—September 18, 2018
The Cape Symphony will bring disco to a whole new level of authenticity and sonic brilliance for its Symphony at the Disco on October 13 & 14, 2018.
Hot club anthems like “Night Fever,” “On the Radio,” and “Disco Inferno” come to life for this Disco party complete with the 10-piece Boogie Wonder Band joined by a large 60-piece orchestra.
“This is much more than a concert... It’s a party!” said Cape Symphony Artistic Director & Conductor Jung-Ho Pak. “We’re thrilled to include the Boogie Wonder Band which features fantastic singers and a funky band recreating all of our ‘70s favorites. Many of that era’s top hits featured the sound of the symphony beautifully, so this is a rare and perfect pairing. There’s no better way to hear this music!”
Boogie Wonder Band has been called “the most celebrated disco band of our generation” and their members include Marky de Sax, Foxy B. Bellucci, Pistol Pete, and Boogie Cindy. The band rocks hundreds of private events for celebrities like Celine Dion to booty-shaking parties at casinos, festivals and orchestras throughout North America each year.
“If you’re up for a high-energy party and want to re-live the groovy days of the ‘70s then this is the place to be in October,” said Pak.
Donna Summer, Kool & The Gang, Chic, and the Bee Gees are just a small sampling of the power house artists featured in the first CapePops! concert of the season.
On Saturday, October 13, Cape Symphony is partnering with The West End, the well-known Hyannis restaurant, to offer an amazing disco experience! Ticketholders for “Symphony at the Disco” receive a 20% discount on dinner at The West End, and the Cape Symphony is pleased to offer $20 tickets for guests under 50. Limitations apply.
