Alison Heleen (director, Debut Winds) is a music teacher and clarinetist local to Cape Cod. Raised in Bourne, Ms. Heleen studied at the University of New Hampshire where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education in 2012 and her Master's in Secondary Education in 2013. Her primary focus is on beginning band, which she teaches in the Barnstable school district. As a private instructor, Ms. Heleen has taught clarinet, saxophone, and ukulele, and has instructed students of all levels and ages. Ms. Heleen performs locally with the Falmouth Chamber Players Orchestra, Falmouth Town Band, and various theater companies. As a solo clarinetist, Ms. Heleen enjoys finding the "deep tracks" of the clarinet repertoire and performing lesser-known works. Her favorite pieces are modern and 20th century works, and she especially loves playing unaccompanied music. In her spare time, Ms. Heleen loves attending rock concerts in Boston, reading, and playing Dungeons and Dragons with her husband.
