Lauren Lortie is a practicing artist with a focus in painting. A Centerville resident, she first came to Cape Symphony (formerly Cape Cod Conservatory) at age five, to take art classes and violin lessons. Lauren continued taking both group and private violin lessons for nearly 20 years, and continues to pursue her education in art today.
Over the past few years, Lauren has been teaching art to students ages 4-18 at Cape Symphony while completing her graduate studies. She taught both group and private lessons with a curriculum mostly tailored toward each individual's strengths and interests using multiple media. Most recently, she is excited to be working with the Cape Symphony Preschool as Assistant Teacher and Art Specialist.
Lauren has studied at The School of The Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University (Studio Diploma), Massachusetts College of Art and Design (BFA), and most recently earned her Master's in Fine Arts at the LeRoy E. Hoffberger School of Painting at Maryland Institute College of Art.
