A versatile in-demand musician and educator, Tori Boell is a freelance horn player based in New York City. She has completed a three-year Orchestral Fellowship with The Orchestra Now at Bard College. Tori has performing credits for three of the Orchestra's albums, including “Transcription in Translation.” She also performs as part of the Cobalt Brass Trio on a recital titled "Re-standardizing Brass Trio Repertoire" featuring a program of all female composers at the International Women's Brass Conference 2025 in Hartford, CT. She has attended and performed at the Bard Summer Music Festival, The Maine Chamber Music Seminar, and the National Orchestral Institute + Festival, where she has served as a Teaching Fellow in a partnership with the Pacific Music Institute and Hawaii Youth Symphony.
Tori's principal teachers are Erik Ralske (Metropolitan Opera) and Erik Reed (American Brass Quintet), and she has worked with Barbara Jostlein Currie (Metropolitan Opera), Elizabeth Freimuth (Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra), Shawn Hagan (The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own"), and Leelanee Sterrett (New York Philharmonic). She earned a Master’s degree from Bard College and a dual Bachelor's Degree in Horn Performance and Music Education from Ithaca College. She also serves as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army.
When not playing the horn or teaching, Tori enjoys being outside as much as possible (hiking/swimming), spending time with her friends, and taking care of her plants.
