An afternoon devoted to Tchaikovsky pairs two of his most beautiful Romantic masterpieces. Piano Concerto No. 1 opens the program with majesty, excitement, and soaring drama. Following an intermission, Symphony No. 5 unfolds as an intensely emotional journey from shadow to triumph, weaving fate and passion into a powerful symphonic arc.

This compelling program takes us from Classical elegance to Romantic depth. Chevalier de Saint-Georges’s Symphony No. 1 opens with poise and charm, followed by Shostakovich’s searing Cello Concerto No. 1. The concert culminates in Brahms’s Symphony No. 4, a work of beauty, power, and weight that crowns our Classical series finale with profound emotion.
